Before the release of the album Showtime, former NFL star Vernon Davis and Washington, D.C. producer Tone P introduced their musical partnership with the single Bounce Like Dis, a high-energy record built around the spirit of D.C.’s culture and the adrenaline of sports.
The track was created as an anthem that blends hip-hop with the bounce of Washington’s signature sound. Produced by Tone P, the record draws inspiration from Go-Go by sampling music from the D.C. band New Impressionz, giving the song a rhythmic groove rooted in the city’s musical identity while maintaining the hard-hitting energy of a modern sports anthem.
For Tone P, the record was another opportunity to showcase how Go-Go rhythm can power modern hip-hop and sports culture. With its stadium-ready energy and unmistakable D.C. groove, “Bounce Like Dis” served as the opening statement for Davis’ music journey and the first major step toward the album Showtime.
The collaboration came together when Davis reached out to Tone P while developing his sound as a recording artist. After connecting in the studio, Tone P played the beat that would become “Bounce Like Dis,” and Davis immediately began writing to it, capturing the celebratory energy that would define the record.
The song’s visual brought that same momentum to life. Directed by Chris Farmer, the official music video was filmed at FedExField, home of the Washington NFL franchise now known as the Washington Commanders where Davis performs on the 50-yard line, symbolically merging his football legacy with his new creative chapter in music.

The single represents a collision of two worlds, football and music, stadium energy and Go-Go rhythm, sports legacy and Washington, D.C. culture.
